Introduction to Root Cross Current

Every teenager is asking big questions — who am I, who can I trust, what is my body for, and where do I belong? These are not small questions, and they are not asked in a vacuum. Your teen is navigating identity, relationships, and sexuality in a culture that offers loud, competing answers, often with no room for honest conversation.

At AVC, we don't want you to face that alone. Root is a 10-week course built to come alongside parents and give teenagers a safe space to ask their real questions — and to ground their answers in a biblical foundation that holds when life gets hard.

Root Cross Current is a 10-week discipleship course for teenagers, designed around the three areas where teens feel the most pressure: identity, relationships, and sexuality. Rather than avoiding the hard topics or handing students prepackaged answers, Root creates a guided environment where honest questions are welcome and Scripture is the starting point for every conversation.

Are Services Conducted in English?

Root Cross Current  offer services in both English and Swahili to accommodate their diverse understanding of the message. Notes are provided in both engilsh and swahili, but if you prefer other language , It's always a good idea to check with staff member  regarding their service language.

The Benefits of Joining Root

1. A Safe Space for Honest Questions
Teens are already asking the hard questions — often in group chats, online, or in their own heads, without wise guidance. Root gives them a place where no question is off-limits and no one is shamed for asking.

2. A Biblical Foundation, Not Just Rules
We don't just tell students what to believe. We help them understand why — building a framework they can carry into college, careers, and relationships.

3. Partnership With Parents
You are the primary influence in your teen's life. Root is designed to support you, not replace you, giving you shared language and a starting point for conversations at home.

4. Real Community
Your teen will walk through these 10 weeks alongside peers and leaders who are asking the same questions and pursuing the same foundation.

5. Confidence to Navigate Pressure
Identity, relationships, and sexuality are where teens face the most confusion and pressure. Root equips them to respond with conviction and grace instead of being swept along.
